It is with great sadness that we share the news of the passing of our colleague, mentor and friend, Ian Jenkins.
Ian was a highly respected Principal at Morrows and a trusted adviser to his clients for more than 50 years. He joined Morrows in 2018 following the merger of MSI Ragg Weir and quickly became a valued and respected member of our firm. Over the past eight years, Ian has made a lasting contribution to us, our people and the many clients he worked with.
Throughout his career, Ian was known for his professionalism, insight, humour and unwavering commitment. He had an incredible attention to detail, a sharp intellect and an authenticity that people deeply respected. Ian was someone who called a spade a spade. Brutally honest at times, but always genuine, decent and guided by what he believed was right.
To many clients and colleagues, Ian was more than a trusted adviser. He was a steady hand, a sounding board and a shoulder to lean on during difficult times. His guidance, honesty and courage made a significant difference to so many people over the years.
Even in recent years, Ian had remained focused on supporting his clients and mentoring those around him. The strength and resilience he showed left a deep impression on all of us. His generosity of spirit and quiet determination will not be forgotten.
True to his character, Ian took great care to ensure his clients were well supported. He worked thoughtfully to transition relationships and leave everyone in capable hands, something that mattered deeply to him. His legacy will live on through those relationships and in the team that continues to support them.
To those of you who sent messages via Morrows or directly to Ian over recent weeks, please know they brought him enormous comfort and peace. To hear that he was respected, valued and cared for by so many meant a great deal to him and his family.
Right until the very end, he was thinking of others first, wanting to protect those around him and determined to remain in control of the situation in true ‘Ian’ fashion.
On behalf of everyone at Morrows, we extend our deepest condolences to Ian’s wife, Penny, and daughters, Sarah and Nicola, their partners and his four beautiful grandchildren, not to forget his trusted furry companion, Fergus.
We are sincerely grateful for the contribution he made to our firm, our clients and the profession. Ian will be remembered with great respect, gratitude and affection.
With sympathy,
Graeme Marks, Laurel Moulynox and Neil Yeoman
Managing Directors, Morrows
